The life we live.
The life we live.
This is the last week of production before we present Dread Action Network to the world! We are in the final editing stage of the film, making adjustments to timing, order, sound and visual effects.
We also have our promotional poster ready to go. As soon as we decide on a date and time to present, we’ll start hanging them up on campus. We are coordinating with other groups at the moment to put together a group screening, which will likely be held in the Canzani auditorium.
Below are some GIFs made by Jeremey documenting our group’s process.
It has been a busy few weeks of shooting footage and editing to make everyone’s concept come to life. By now everyone is finalizing their GIFs and sending them to Heather to be put into Final Cut to make our combined video. We have been thinking a lot about the design of the final product and how the GIFs will work together in a unified piece. Our hope is to be able to create the look of an old television that’s on the fritz and keeps changing channels. Each GIF will be looped a few times before it is interrupted by static or some other interference (see examples) which will transition us to the next GIF. Each GIF will also have it’s own audio that will switch. The end result will be something very dynamic and a little crazy, but with enough common elements to keep the viewer engaged and clear on the main concept of fears.
Heather spooked by something in the water (animation coming soon)
Aaron is tormented by evil children (animation coming soon)
Stephanie rages against the mirror
Emily crawled on by bugs (animation coming soon)
Marina desperately tries to find the words (animation coming soon)
Jeremey is feeling isolated and alone
Madison is set ablaze (animation coming soon)
Breeanna feels like a total disappointment (animation coming soon)
This GIF was created by Marina and demonstrates our idea for how we would like to transition between everyone’s final GIF.
Marina provided us with an awesome tutorial of how to achieve this effect.
We are now at the end of week 2 for this project and have covered a lot of ground. Here is a summary of the progress we have made toward our final piece:
Everyone in the group has chosen a fear to represent in their GIF. We have covered a wide variety of topics ranging from social insecurity to alien abduction. Below is a list of fears that will be represented.
In order to create a visually unified final piece, we have decided to apply a common color strategy to all the GIFs. All images will be black, white and gray and will use red selectively to identify and emphasize the fear.
